Social Media & Marketing Manager The Workaround Collective • Marketing Reports to: Executive Director Type: Part-time, 1099 contractor Location: Fully remote within the United States Hours: ~5–10 hours/week to start, growing as the organization and funding grow About the Role We are looking for a creative, passionate, mission-driven, and data-minded Social Media & Marketing Manager to lead our social media channels, marketing, and brand strategy. You will design and run campaigns, create and manage our newsletters, support our monthly webinar series “Candid Conversations” (in partnership with Personally), support the launch and promotion of our fundraising programs (online store, corporate sponsorships, and fundraising events and campaigns), build strong connections with our stakeholders, and attract and convert followers into new members, supporters, and donors. Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement social media, branding, and marketing strategies that advance our mission, programs, and fundraising goals. • Produce engaging, professional text, image, and video content tailored to platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook. • Create and manage our newsletters and other member and stakeholder communications. • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions across our channels to foster community engagement. • Support the execution of our monthly “Candid Conversations” webinar series in partnership with Personally. • Support the launch and promotion of our fundraising programs — online store, corporate sponsorships, and fundraising events and campaigns. • Track key performance indicators (KPIs), measure return on investment (ROI), and prepare regular growth reports. • Plan and manage social media advertising budgets and execute targeted ad campaigns. • Support member-facing communications and community branding for our job seekers, mentors, and content creators. • Stay current with social media trends, algorithm changes, and best practices. Skills & Qualifications • Proven experience as a Social Media Manager or in a similar digital marketing role. • Deep understanding of major social platforms and scheduling/analytics tools. • Strong copywriting and creative, visual storytelling skills. • Working knowledge of SEO, web-traffic metrics, and social advertising. Preferred (Not Required) • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field — or equivalent experience. • Experience in or with a nonprofit, philanthropy, startup, and/or e-commerce. About The Workaround Collective The Workaround Collective is a newly formed 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit headquartered in Bryan, TX. Our mission is to leverage the power of human connection to support job seekers through the demands and challenges of their job search. We connect them to educational, wellness, and career-support experts, mentors, peers, and educational and financial resources through our in-house digital library and (future-planned) grants-assistance programs. Because we are newly launched, we are intentionally starting small as we ramp up. Hours are estimated to start around 5–10 per week and grow as the organization expands and funding grows.
